So I've been out of the hobby for a few years but now I'm back and ready to roll. It seems that the basics have remained the same, with some nuances which I am uneducated about. A buddy recommended I use GFO (new to me) so I called thefilterguys.biz because they seemed to have great prices. I'm glad I called them! What a great experience. I spoke to Jim who was extremely nice and patient with my ignorance to said nuances. We spoke for about 30 minutes about GFO and other areas of the hobby. We even discussed LED lighting (which is also new to me) even though they don't sell lighting! Jim knows his stuff and you can tell he is more concerned as a fellow hobbyist than he is as a salesman. He actually recommended that I go with a cheaper product than I originally asked to purchase from them. Very few salesman do that! He even recommended other merchants who carry items that he does not. Hands down, this was the best merchant transaction I've ever had in the hobby (then and now). I highly recommend these these guys. Knowledgable, friendly, helpful, and most importantly, genuinely concerned with their customers' tanks' well being and steering customers away from spending more than they need to spend.
