I dosed my tank today with B-ionic two part calcium and when I got back from work the entire front and side glass panels have a white haze. I used my glass magnet and nothing. I then tried to scrape a little bit with my finger nails and it comes off (very hard to scrape) I'm thinking I have calcium precipitate on the glass. Has this happened to anyone here and how did you get it off the glass? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

My levels are:
Salinity 1.025
PH 8.2
Alk 12 before dosing and 10 after
Nitrates .05
Phosphates .03
Calcium 375 ppm before dosing and 410 after
Magnesium 1100

The reason I say this is because i normally dose into my sump, not the tank itself. By the time it hits the tank you wont notice any white stuff. I also only notice a white cloud with the Alk, not the cal.

I hear you, I've done it before without a problem. I think I got a false reading on my Elos test and I overdosed. I read somewhere that's the cause of the white haze. It happened in a matter of two hours, I came home for lunch. I hope I can clean the glass without scratching it, otherwise I guess it's time for an upgrade. It's a shame because the tank is only 5 months old. It's a beautiful piece in my living room. Lets see if it clears in a day or two.

You have to get a mag float and scrub it off it usually doesnt dissapear by itsself

I tried that already, I have a heavy duty magnet cleaner (Shark) I'm afraid I may have to break down the system and clean the tank with vinegar. This thing is pretty hard to remove, i scraped a little off with a razor blade but pretty much the entire tank is covered. It's gonna be a PITA!!

Yea i know what you mean. Your best bet is just to keep going with the razor blade and take ur time. I wouldnt wanna break down the tank but the areas you dont get will one day be covered in coralline algae anyways. Good luck

I'm gonna try tomorrow, if it gets scratched then I'm gonna get another tank. I might do a big shallow tank, something like 4' by 4' not sure yet but I'm already getting ideas. My wife thinks I'm crazy, lol. Lets see
