what are the benefits of a rock wall? what is the concepts behind it? could you use it in a reef tank?

By rock wall do you mean a pile of live rock against the back wall og you tank or what >?

thats what intrigued me... the egg crate wall against the back and sides, coverring the powerheads or what not...

Oh ok now I know what your talking about. Like tony said master is awesome I v'e seen in person and its great. Now its a good idea in order to achive a natural look however you would need to make some ledges and sils in order for your coral to sit. Also you would need to add more rock then just that for the fish to hide. But that also depends on what size tank your going to do it on.

Well masters is done in a 16 gal bow front and it looks great so I would say go for it but he does'nt have any fish in it. I would send him a pm for instructions and or advice.
