Mow much light does Chaetomorpha need to grow. I have read that you should keep the light on 24 hours a day. Is that right?

No. Chaetomorpha does not need to be lit 24 hours a day. Many caulerpa species need to be lit constantly, to prevent it from going sexual; although this article suggests iron dosing may inhibit sexual reproduction of caulerpa.

I put a small PH to move the water around on the top part of the sump ,i aslo had this prob ,now it better
