I have purchased a baby hippo tang at my LFS. I was told from alot of people that tangs eat greens, veggies and stuff and they are herbivores...well i bought some veggie wafers and he does not even bother to go check it out...he knows its there...but when i feed my other live stocks...he/she eats the mysis shrimp...is this wierd or its normal?

they do eat tons of greens, just leave the veggies in there for a bit, they like to graze

good luck with the baby hippo, i hear they're hard to keep

1. give it time its still new to ur system...

2. u were told the right things... they are herbivores they eat algae, nori..

3. Use Algae sheets.. ive neva used the wafers and i dont no if too many people on here use em either... jus by the sheets of algae u see in the package.. since it is a baby hippo tang just put a lil bit on a clip and eventually it will find himself his food.. they graze all day... always leave it in the same place in the beginning until it gets bigger it will eventually get used to it...

4. that is very normal... my tangs diets consist of the algae sheets, omega one flakes, brine shrimp (once in a while its like candy for them) and mysis shrimp... all presoaked in garlic extreme....

Why do you presoak in Garlic extreme? Does this help with lateral line desiease and if not, what does?
