CUC recommendation

I need some recommendations for CUC's for my two 40g breeder tanks.

Reefcleaners.org has some nice clean up crews they sell by the size and type of tank you have.

I have contacted them a few times but have not heard back. Hoping to get CUC by Friday.

What do you think about this split between the two tanks:

15 Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs
75 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs
35 Astrea Snails
10 Cerith Snails
2 Emerald Crabs

Still haven't heard back from reefcleaners, I contacted them here and on their site but they don't have a number listed.

Just need to know what I should look for in a kit and or recommendations. I am a little confused as they all seem to contain different things. Also I see pacific and carribbean.

In my experience, hermits end up eating most of the snails for shells. I have two in my 75 tank.

That's alot of crabs for those two tanks. I have a 75 and I stick to around 10-15 crabs total.

Crabs will have the potential to pick at stuff.

personally... I would go with a minimum amount of crabs...say 10 scarlets maybe 1-2 emerald... then the rest snails.

Trochus and small mexican turbo snails for glass and rocks
nassarius for stirring up the sand bed
nerite for everything else in between

not a big fan of cerith snails.

think 4-5 hermit crabs are good to have. I do not like snails

Which snails are the ones who cant flip back over when they topple?

The trochus, unlike the astreas, can right themselves if they fall over and move faster than the astreas.

So I am reading I should start small with the crew then ramp up. So is there anywhere locally I can purchase these?

go and check out Coral Theory... if you are out in Brooklyn. They are having a great deal on Trochus and Nassarius snails... otherwise if you are in the Philly area... IIRC there was a place that sells SW livestock on Street Road out in Bensalem not far off the exit of I95... or there is always ThatFishPlace out in Lancaster Co.

Ok just a though why not
A) Don't over feed
B) Siphon out the piss & **** before it turns into phosphates that will feed you Alge?

O I know why because if you do that then you will not be able to over feed your fish, to feed your cuc, to feed your phosphates, to feed your chato, :smash:

How quickly do over 150 little critters disappear because they eat each other or just starve? Pretty fast, IMO. But most stores that want to sell CUC's will say you should buy all this- they want to make money!!!

So I was thinking of ordering from reefs2go which package should I get for each 40 breeder or one larger one to split between 2? Also should I get any starfish or anything else?

I have a 40breeder and only have 2 trochus,4 nassarius.I only have 2 clown fish and a few frags but the snails seem busy all the time.I was going through the same thing wondering what to ge, so I only got a few figuring they will always have something to eat.

My rock and sandbed are getting pretty dirty. I was thinking of getting this for each but not sure if its too much:

• 20 Nassarius Snails
• 20 Cerith Snails
• 10 XLG Cerith Snails
• 5 Turbo Snails
• 20 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs
• 5 Mexican Red Leg Hermit Crabs
