Image upload difficulties

So I have been trying to upload few pictures and a profile picture. So far, I succeeded to posting a link to one my threads via photobucket. While trying to upload other pictures to that thread I was told that the Mods need to approve it first. Moreover, when trying to upload my profile pic, I must have resized the image like 5 times, it is so small and still not letting me post it. I keep getting "Remote file is too large".

Someone please help me out here. Thanks

This is for your avatar picture? I believe we're restricted to the following policy for avatar pics:

The maximum size of your custom image is 181 by 181 pixels or 97.7 KB (whichever is smaller).

thanks for the reply, I actually had the image resized even smaller and still, ether invalid file or too large. Perhaps I am selecting something wrong in photobucket?

You're welcome. Hmmm... save a copy of your picture locally, and try Option 2? Got a link to the picture you're working with?

I wonder if photobucket is having issues. I have tried uploading pics, but some are coming out upside-down. I've tried this on a few different forums and it's the same issue.
