I've had my tank up for more the 2 years and I've almost always have a lil green hair algae on some of my rocks.

Sps tank
Red Sea max 130d 34gallon
10 gallon sump
2 x mp10w + stock pumps
1/13 chiller running at 80-82
Stock lights + 7 x 12in stunner stripps
5 gallon water change every Friday
Red Sea pro salt
Phosphate 0.08
Nitrate 0.01-0.02 middle of color
Testing with new Red Sea test kits
5 stage ro di water with 2 weeks old filters
Lights are less the 3 mouths old

HELP!!!!!!!! I've scribed the rock were the green hair algae is and it comes back in the same place

Please post a photo of the algae in question so we can ID it.

Keep doing what your doing and it will go away, things dont change overnight and if it doesn't go away who cares. Bottom line is you have phosphate issues, correct them and the algae will disappear with it.

A slightly elevated magnesium level is supposed to starve out green hair. I had a green hair take over a couple of years ago. I got a black molly (Yucatan) and acclimated to saltwater. The little trooper mowed down every bit of it in two months. My clowns bullied the lil guy to death, soon thereafter. A moment in silence for the fallen....
