if the silicone came off wouldn't it just be ideal to use aquarium silicone again?
you can't (can not) just pull any old silicone off the shelf to seal it back up.

I know that. That's why I'm asking. I'm not near any stores that even sell aquarium silicone. That's my prob and ordering online isn't a option right now, we carry a variety of 2 part epoxys and such also . Figured I'd ask

What you want to look for is a potable silicone... usually it will have it in the description... I know GE makes one and quite possibly so does DAP, however you really need to look it up. It is safer going to a fish store and buying silicone. This way you know that it is 100% safe with no questions.
