ssminnow, i understanbd what your asking, most corals go through a trend stage, is it sps thats hot now ? zoa's ? shroons ? or chalices ? the chalice fad came and went, zoa's usually have a 6 month stage, and this i believe is because of the time it takes for the frags to grow back, sps has a few new colors and same with zoa's

I don't know. I remember years ago when I first started reefing, it was very obvious that acans and micromussa were HOT.

Like, 50$ fo one polyp of something green and purple.

Now, it seems can't even sell a 5 polyp acan frag for more than $30-50.

I see no WTB threads dying for acans.

Maybe zoas? and designer clowns??

I think it depends on the person really and their level of expertise. A begginer will probably be into anything they can afford and keep alive like zoas and frogspawns. Acans were real hot a few years ago then chalices. I think there is people who just love certain corals and they are collectible. Zoas and chalices especially because there is so many different kinds. Acans have a ton of color varieties as well so people will always be into them. SPS definitely seems like the new hot thing to the more experienced people I guess because of the challenege or just boredom because the zoas and lps always live lol.
