Oh, I'm ancient according to my teen daughter. I've never done anything or been anywhere, LOL!!! I get "Mom, things aren't like they used to be in the "old" days". LOL!!!! According to her I had no life growing up. She should only know. Hmmm, maybe not.

i remember uncle sam's and some of those clubs jan mentioned. how about the fun house in manhattan and fantasia in bklyn? i guess their are some older reefers on mr.

I think I may have been to the Fun House. I'm still trying to remember a 3 level club in an old warehouse in the meat district in Manhattan. Each floor had different music. Walked outside about 3am to find my car had been towed one night. That was a very expensive night.

We were 21 y/o? There were 5 of us girls that went everywhere together. We always drove. Since I didn't like to drink I was the designated driver. It was cool. LOL.

The missing car definately ruined the night. Even worse was that I had to wait about 6 hours for the lot to open to get my car. Ugh, what a mess.

older then some but not old.
never had my car towed, what a way to ruin the night.

I must pre-date all you guys. To me, the Palladium was the new name they gave the Academy of Music concert hall in the 70's (Not as good as the Fillomore East, but you take what you can get...). When I went clubbing, it was CBGB, Hurrah's.....I don't think Studio 54 would have let me in if I tried, but that place was miles off my radar...........

I remember many of those places as I used to go in the late 60s and early 70s.
I grew up in Flushing. Our crowd then was about 40 people, now everybody married everybody and some moved away or died so there are really only 4 close couples left that are close from those days right out of high school.

I grew up in Brooklyn (Park Slope), moved to Queens (Rego Park) when I got married. Aside from my 4 years upstate for college, my HS and grad schools were in Manhattan...used to go down to buy tickets for the Fillmore ($5.50 top price!) during our lunch periods. Lost touch with my HS friends, except for the occasional reunion...but since I went on FB I've reconnected with lots of them.
