I remember reading somewhere when there was interest in bringing back ToTM
someone said something about a curse. Is there something I missed?

This morning I woke up to a broken Schedule 80 Tee split on my calcium reactor and my sump room flooded. Thankfully there was only 25 gals. of RO in my top-off tank and it lowered my S.G. to 1.023. I had just done a 40 gal w/c last night and was too lazy to dump the water so at least I had that. My temp. dropped down to 73.

I am now waiting for RO water so I can do another water change to get the SG back up. I haven't seen any ill effects. Yet.

But seriously how does a Schedule 80 fitting split with no pressure on it?

Maybe there really is a curse.

Reef Zombies?
Usually it happened before they were announced :type:

One cracked..one came down with Ich.. and one crashed...after the 3 in a row I was afraid to start the next thread back up for a while...I hope the next winner hasn't seen this thread...

Then again, many of our past winners tanks are doing just fine (fingers crossed, knocking on wood...) :)

Great that you hadn't pitched the water yet..so there is hope that the curse is over now!! Hope everything turns out fine for you!

Oh no Jim sorry to hear about that buddy. Think of it this way, It could have been MUCH worse. If nothing in the tank is showing any ill effects than no harm no foul, there at least. Any water damage? All your electronics ok?

One step back, 2 steps forward :)

I believe these thigns happen becasue the reef gods want them to - and likely things you have wanted to change have been piling up.

Take the opportunity to make the changes now that you can (while taking things apart) :)

Sounds like you caught it quick and early enough to not have a major impact.

If you need someone to hold frags - I volunteer :)

Looking Great Mike, and I so hope you are right. I just pray that faint scratching noise I hear isn't the Reef Gremlins inscribing your address in their appointment book of mayhem. Nah, that was just the neighbor's cat:)
