Does anyone know of any reef safe fish thats highly active at night(when the lights go off)??

Shark man mentioned that his flashlight fish were out at night

Squirrel fish are very active at night but some of them get very large and will eat inverts. So depending on how large your tank is you one need to get one that doesn't get too big.

I wouldnt reccomend flashlight fish.
They are nocturnal and need darkess more then light. During the day you would need to provide them with areas of darkness.
They really need a species tank. But they are very cool to watch at night.

x2...my Blue eyed and Bangaii are the only fish that actually swim round at night in my tank...

The thing is I'm not really a fan of cardinals. I was hoping to bypass them and get something else

I have a brackish water fish that's not the prettiest but is very active when the lights go off, it's a knight goby.
My swissguard basslet is very active when the lights go out. If it is total darkness he is clearly asleep, but if you want a fish that is active when you are still up with a bit of light around the tank...

When I wrote that, I re worded it three times so it didn't sound like that. But it is what it is, the eel really did have a flashlight. The only time I noticed him was when he came out of hiding for new batteries.
