i just got home and i wanted to thank everyone again for your support. my wife was at work today and had her laptop which she brings home everyday and i often use to get on our site. she never has been on the site on her own but i often show her pics and threads and so on. i told her this morning that she should read my thread on getting out of the hobby and see why this hobby is so important to me and also to see the support i got from all of you, so she did. it so happens that i'm always logged on on her computer so she decided to post what she did which was very nice and caught me by surprise being i saw my screen name with a posting that i did write. but i truely thank her for being there for me:kiss:

I have been a little slow on the uptake, but count me in for getting Dave back on track - one of the MR reefers with the true spirit that nakes this thread just what MR is about.
Count me in, SPS, LPS clams whatever. I got it covered as well. Even some of the more exotic stuff when the tank get's back on track. I'll also go up to help out resetting the tank and dialing it in. If I am not mistaken, he had some nice deltec equipment that is sitting unused that I can help him dial in.

now for the bad part. i don't think that chemi-clean had anything to do directly to my lps and softies but in away it did. being that my tank was about 90% of sps it caused a serious water problem which inreturn is killing everything else in my tank. this morning when i left my house i looked at my three clams and they were pretty much dead, today when i got home i saw my coco worm out of its home and was struggling to find a hiding place. it look now like it dead now also. then i had three corals that look like they had a chance to make it, purple monster (kedd) purple polyps birdsnest (montepora) purple bonsai (twinreef) they are all dead. i am trying to contact some ppl close to where i live to try and have them house what ever i have left so it won't die. i will take tomorrow off and try to take everything out of tank. rocks will be going into brute garbage cans with a heater and powerhead, no light for two to four weeks changing water weekly. the fish are all still doing good in the tank and i will be doing 15% water changes twice a week with changing carbon weekly. i will be posting pics of everything i do not to disturb you all, but to help educate and understand how we need to be careful of the things we put in our tanks (especially me) and the outcome that can occur of such action.

you guy's can set something up for sunday if it's ok with yall. let me know how many of you guys and girl will be coming so i can arrange for some drinks and snacks. anyone willing to come is welcome. bring a swim suit just incase you get sweatty and decide to take a dip.

thank you for your kind words. just the thought that you would be willing to help offers me much comfort and i will be wishing you lots of luck when your tank is ready. please look me up then i promise to help you anyway i can. by then hopefully i'll have stuff i can frag for you.

People that are willing to donate frags need not start fragging now unless you want to place them on plugs or unless they want the frags to heal before they are placed into the tank.
First things first... We are not going to be throwing good colonies/frags after bad. So Dave needs to start getting the tank back into shape to receive the donations. I will keep in contact with him and see what the prognosis is first so that everyone will have a good idea of what, when, why and how.
Second is the collection of the donations... Once everything else is up and running I would like to make all of the pick-ups in one day. I have enough coolers and buckets to carry them safely up to his home. I would just ask that if you can bag them to do so. I will be able to pick up donations in the NYC area. So that means I will need to get a list of everyone involved and addresses so I know where I am going. Anyone involved from the Jersey Side, if you can meet me over any of the Bridges or tunnels or maybe we can set up a meeting place in Jersey I will come there also. Conneticut ..same thing.
Then we will set a date for pick up. It will be on a sat or sun so that most people are home.
So until then lets keep the pledge lines open and thanks again to all of the Manhattan Reefs members that have always turned out to be the best Reefers in the Reef community
