T5 best bulbs?

Hey I currently have 8 36 inch t5's running on my 180 gallon tank. The bulbs are currently 2 white 12k and 2 blues actinic. I was thinking of going to 1 red 2 purp and 1 white. would that be enough ligt for my coral. I never tried it. I have mainly soft coral but i do have some zoos and a monti. Any suggestions on whats the best setup.

ATIs. They emit more USEABLE light and they seem to be more intense then other t5's. That's my understanding.

Hey i understand that ati's output is the best but i am nervous with reducing the output by bying red and blue actinics then using the sun or white bulbs. Wont that effect hard corals like lps's

Blue + is not actinic bulb and has more PAR than any other "white" bulb...

Really personal preference, I like when the tank is bright, if you like more blue than go with some blue bulb instead the aquablue spec....

I wouldn't use the red or actinic.

Red bulb does not, the phosphate issue more likely...

but why 3 ati's and one kz why the kz. Just wondering becuase its like 30 a bulb compared to like 20

Very informative! I was thinking about the bulb line up as well now that there is a BRS group buy. It kinda sucks that the shipping is still in effect but supposedly they will make any MR buyer a prefered customer. Meaning better discount:cool3:
