My tank is always way too high in temperature I need to find a way too cool it down besides using a chiller.

First, I think is to lower the heat generation by the choosing the right powerhead.

Please tell me yur experience.

why dont you tell us what you running on your tank ,this waay we can help

use a fan and a controller

my tank was hitting 86 and some of my corals lost color...
i have since added 2 clip on fans to the top of my tank and the temp doesnt go higher than 82 which i know still isnt too great but corals seem to be doing fine since i did that... 20$ for 4 degree drop wasnt too bad...

The room temperature is 83F and I have aquaclear 70 and rectangular power head with some markings saying 800.

Already shut down the skimmer, also don't know the brand. Will find out later.

BTW as for my case after reconsidering all the factors, only AC or chiller will do the job, I know. Outside temperature 76F, my room temperature is 83F and the tank is 90F without lighting nor without skimmer. Everyone should know without AC to control temperature in the room or a chiller to chill down the water, there is no way I can bring the water temperature to safety level.

However, I would like to keep the thread going so as gain some more info which powerhead is cooler.

Thanks everyone please continue to chime in

83F with lights pump and humdity is going to bring the heat up quit a bit

Try the fans with ranco controller to keep the temp steady.bUT 100%

What are you going to do when it get into the high 90s and 100s at time.Keep in mind summer just started

I missed this post :headache: :headache:
How long has your tank been at 90F ? and if it stay that way for long ,you are going to have a tank crash again :headache: :headache: Get a chiller or AC .even get a fan and pu tin the window so it pull out air from the room (thats if you have windows .
Good luck
