my shrimp molt to much..... it gets annoying having to stick ur hand in to pull out shrimp skin... YuK!!! but i usually do a 5 gallon water change once every 2 weeks when i siphon out the diatrus in my bb tank and i guess thats enough iodine needed for them to molt... never heard of them molting incorrectly... maybe not molting at all...

Normally they perish if they do not molt properly. Over dosing iodine for them to molt more often will also shorten the lifespan. Testing for iodine levels prior to dosing is best.

If you don't heavily overskim, your iodine levels should be sufficient just from routine water changes for molt purposes.

but what the actual result when the iodine level is not right and a shrimp does not molt properly?
