I have a PC 4X65 light for my 48" 72g bowfront. I am thinking of upgrading to MH. What kind of $$ do I need and what are my options?
I see the new ones are like 600+; How much should I expect to pay if I can get a used one. I am not a really diy guy, but would like to know how safe it is to assemble one on my own.

And what kind of configuration I should be looking at (wattage/no of blubs/kelvin rate etc) I am not a cheapo, but the same time dont want to buy a top of the line one.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Do you have a canopy over your tank? If you do you don't maybe you could pick up a set up from another member where all you would need to buy would be metal halide ballasts.

I've seen these and both are in great condition. If you get both for $150 and hang them, you could spend another $200 on the ballasts from hellolights.com or from one of the vendors here. That would cost you around $400 altogether and you'd have a great set up.
