it looks like the water intake is from the slits and water shoots out from the end, kinda like the seios.

hmmmm.... Time to call the friend with an ABS casting company. See how much it would cost for say, 100. Just the plastic piece of pipe with the piece across for the prop shaft.
and it will be all cool and say 'bad-coffee enterprises' around the ring.

Thank you all for the kind words,would be more then glade to do it again for the fellow club members. Its was hard to do the first one , friday night about 3 hours with jose and my self. But made good time at the meeting. I would say about 30min. for each. Zoous, is your mod up and running?

The maxi-streams are awesome!!! There are a bunch of threads on RC for various pumps that use a simmilar mod. There are also a couple of sites that sell the ready made mods for the maxijet. Maybe someone can chime in as to which site it was......
According to users the maxi-stream acts more like a tunze than a seio. For the price you cant go wrong.

They seem kinda cool, but unless you have the proper equipment already, seems like a hassel to try to make yourself.
Someone else should try to market it, bring the price down!

Zoous nice pics, thank you for coming.
Once I have a table saw and a jig rigged for this mod I should be able to knock each shroud out in a few minutes. Total assembly time was 15 to 30 minutes and this was our first time doing them. Total cost of each mod was $5. So I wouldn't compare the cost to a seio. Beside the flow is night and day. I put two modded MJ in my 90g and I had to take one out because the flow was way too much. Two of these on a wavemaker would kick a$$.
I'm going to work on getting the correct size black PVC and I will offer these to you guys on MR pretty soon, so keep an eye out.
