:headache: Well after beign so excited to start the new tank and get my first acans and blasto's now I freaking pissed. I came homw today after work to take some pics of the blastos. So I went down stairs to the holding tank to get a shot. When I got there I noticed one of my damsels was died. In shock I started to retrive it to find another one dead as well. So in a panic I started to hunt down my purple tang. This was the only fish that I really cared about. It was one of my first difficult fish that was healthy and happy. After tearing through the tank I come to find my susspitions were right. There he was dead under a rock. My heart broke a little. I think what happened was that my maxi jet fell and sucked up a piece of my cynirina coral and shot toxins inot the tank. The corl seems to have survived and the other surviers are my marron clown and on damsel all the corla lived as well. I don't what to do I am so pissed and upset. I am in the middle of setting up a new tank and now I don't have my little buddy to put in a bigger home. It seems like this is an on going occurence of members either losing corals fish or entire set ups. Lucky the whole system didn;t die but we will see it it can survive :headache: :screama: :dead1: :(

Sorry to hear. I know the feeling.
dido. trust me. the first thing i would do is check and make sure you find everything that is dead and take it out. second i would do a 20 to 25% water change. last i would try and put a little of new carbon in your system. good luck

Steve, I just caught up with this thread. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how you felt about the PT.

Everyone before me has already given the appropriate advice. Keep us posted on your progress.

I know we talked about it in PM's, but I wanted to say it here so that it might be helpful to other reefers out there. The suction cup powerhead holders are a disaster waiting to happen. There are alternatives to using those blasted suction cups. I use DIY magnet mounts. They have been great and flawless to date.

I use these rare earth magnets. I coat them HEAVILY with 100% silicone and mount them to the brackets provided. Four magnets will hold up any powerhead out there on glass or acrylic up to 1/2" (possibly thicker, but I haven't tested thicker).

I can arrange another group buy for them if there is enough interest.

sorry to hear. i don't think there is one person on here who hasn't gone through some misfortune. it makes a difference when you hang in there and everything turns out 100% better.
