When I spoke to deep blue they said a couple snuck out of the factory around 2010 with tempered back panel. I am really sorry bro, I know the feeling all too well. Hopefully deep blue will do the right thing. As far as all rimless tanks being tempered that is false. The second try worked for me bc all the new Deep Blue tanks have a NON TEMPERED back pane and black silicone instead of clear.

I feel for ya, at first it is shocking and then reality sets in and you are left with a nice clean up and a broken tank.

Deep blue maybe it is time to put an asterisk next to that tank in the chart and clearly say to check what color silicone you have before drilling.

THIS IS RIGHT FROM DEEP BLUE MAYBE 2 DAYS AGO SO SORRY TO SAY BUT YOU ARE WRONG

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Deep Blue Professional.

All panels on our #13058 Edge 57 consist of non-tempered glass.

All tempered glass panels used to make our tanks bear a dime-size "tempered glass" emblem near one edge (see images at bottom of attached chart.) Users should always thoroughly inspect the panel to be drilled for this emblem prior to drilling. If the emblem is present, do not drill that panel.

Keep in mind that drilling any type of glass is not without risk. We at Deep Blue do our best to supply our customers with accurate information and advice regarding our products, but we cannot and do not offer any guarantee of successful drillability. Drilling one of our tanks is done at the user?s own risk.

Hope this helps,

If your responding to me it's amazing how someone who never saw my tank knows what it was made of. My tank was 2 years old. Tempered on all sides and had black silicone. Yours obviously had it also. Good Luck.
