Hey All,

I am in Jamaica until Tuesday and my downstairs neighbor just sent me pics of a bit of a tank crash. Something died and I need a 25% water change ASAP. I only have one photo to go off of and it is attached. I can't really tell what the problem is but I am assuming one of my anemones got caught in my vortech, as this as happened befor. I am in Park Slope at 6th Street and 4th Ave. Is anyone available tomorrow morning to help do the change? I will be happy to reimburse for any salt and water and pay for the time to do it. My main concern is I have a 13 year old clown who I have had ever since I have lived in NYC and want to make sure she is OK. Please PM asap.

Thanks

I got some more photos and my tank has completely crashed. Worse case scenario, I lost about 100 heads of frogspawn and hammer, a 10" lobo and a 8" brain. I really hope that the clowns are ok. I contacted coral theory, hopefully they can help out. It's a bummer, my tank was at it's peak. I honestly will be ok so long as I can salvage my fish, especially my clown. I need good vibes here folks...

Tragic update. My 3 fish are all dead, including my 13 year old clown. I am devastated. Coral Theory is salvaging the corals and rock and I need to restart the entire tank. I'm pretty sure it all happened because my RBTA got chopped up in my vortech. My sitter isn't versed in aquariums, so they didn't notice there was a problem until 3 days late. By that time, the RBTA poisoned the tank enough to set off a chain reaction of death. This is the 3rd time a Vortech has chopped up my RBTA...

very sorry to hear about your loss. :-(
my first tank crash was the same scenario 8 years ago, due to an anemone becomming deatched and chopped up by the powerhead while i was away on business. all i heard from parents was the water looked "foggy" and couldn't react.
since that horrible day i will never keep one!
