Ok, so now that I have a new tank started, I'm thinking of doing something a little more experimental, rather than just a straight up reef tank. I've been keeping reef tanks for 20 years now and feel like it would be cool to focus on one aspect of the reef. I'd like to do a species tank with skunk clowns in BTAs. Now before everyone goes "DON'T DO IT" hear me out.

The anemone tank at riverhead is what is inspiring me.

I would love to see if I could pack my tank with RBTA and GBTAs and skunks and see if I could get the fish to cohabitate. Now I know the RH tank is hundreds of gallons, but I am curious if it could be done in a 55G. I am wondering if by having a lot of fish in a space, that any aggression will be dispersed amongst all the fish. Has anyone ever tried this? Also, is anyone from the Riverhead Aquarium on MR? I'd love to chat with them about it.

I was able to keep 5 Sebaes together in a 75gal tank without any problems, as I got them very small and they grow up together. Skunk clowns aren't as aggressive as some of the other clowns, so you could probably do it if you get them small and introduce them all at once. It would also help if you had plenty of anemones or corals for them to host.

its true though, thats how you get deformities and inbreeds. i had a "species only" clown tank with 7 clowns and they started eliminating each other until i had 3 so i would advise against it
