My heart almost broke when I found out half of my beloved seaharewent inside the powerhead. Luckily, I found out early when I notice there seems to be no movement water movement in the rock tank.

I take the whole powerhead into the hospital and slowly try to take him out. He starts to ink and the ink is purple. After about 30 mintues of slow motion, he is out of the powerhead. Wash him with tank water until he is cleared of the ink and until he stops inking. No major open wound but I can see a big circular white patch where I think the tissue must have been dead. He is now in hospital with melafix and a safer powerhead.

What do you think, what else could help him recover faster(he has to back to work by 9:00 you know j/k j/k)?

Pics to follow later tonight

Unfortunately, I still cannot find one owner who has really a safer place yet. Most reef keepers have the whole tank got wiped out instead minor skimishes when crashed. I would not want my animals go into those tanks where animals are missing without being noticed.

Damn Wingo, glad you caught it in time. That's the one you got back from me right? He never inked with me. Make sure the tank is secured of any dangers.

Yup that's the one. I only talk about the ones I treat them as a pet in genenral forum. The only foreseeable dangers left are from tankmates. I have no pseudo in the tank and I think the damsels would not hurt him so the only danger could be from a crab which can pinch on him. Even though the crab is an algae eating one(base on the clamp structure) but last month, it tends to pinch on fish instead.

It did not ink on me. It's inking on the powerhead when the powerhead power get turned off. Probably the suction change too much all of a sudden. So don't use cheap toy for youruself, it makes you ink :joke:

I handled it many times to inspect for wounds even after the incident it did not ink.

In my tank, he let go easily never really resist.

BTW, how to pry an cucumber off the glass? I tried ice, water flow and gave up? I found the last resort is the best-gave up-I don't even have to get my hands wet-what's yours?

Check on the thread about the wrong kind of love, more dating pics of the two fish
