what sump is needed for 75 gallon RR

i had a question. Im going to be building a stand , and i would like to know which sump or even size of sump to buy for my new 75 gallon RR system.
I WANT TO DO A REFUGIUM..

how much space will you have inside the stand? im putting a 29gl sump/fuge for my 75 but only cuz i need space for other things, otherwise would have used a 30gal standard. Also, i read that fuge should be about 10% of DT volume (so about 1/2). Go to the calculators section and calculate what size tank you will need with all these parameters in mind.

i wanted to do 30 gal but would not mind doing 29 i have a 23" tall sump compartment and i would say length to be safe is about 39"

are you geting a custom mades ump or from a standard sized tank?
dimentions on a 29 are appr 30x12x18 and for 30 are 36x12x16. i guess if you dont care how much space you have left over or want a bigger fuge, go with 30. for me its important to fit the ATO container CA reactor, Co2 tank and other equipmetn inside the stand so space is very limited. plus 29 is much cheaer then 30 (which is nearly impossible to find in a store! for whatever reason).

lol np yea i do want some space just so later on i can add some extra reactors .etc and i do want to do a custom sump becuz i want a bigger fuge where do i think i can get a 29 gall for cheap>?

ding, ding, ding...PETCO dollar a gallon sale ending tomorrow! Thats where Im heading today to get my 29. if you want ill try to draw up a sump diagram of the 29 the way i planned it and post it here (granted ill figue out how to post pics...:help

I know! But Id rather spend the $100 diference towards my lights. I have a very limited budget and am trying to get the best I can and save where possible. A sump is basivcally a container, so whetehr glass or acrylic it will still hold water for me.

Acrylic is much easier to customize thou

have you heard anything about using miracle mud in the fuge? I heard a lt from both sides and dont know if its a worth a try

Acrylic sumps are a waste of money unless u need a custom size , for a normal tank like a 75 you can fit a normal aga under either the 29 or 30 whichever you see fit for your needs i like to make everything as tight as i can and have the biggest space for the refugium , just plan first with cut pieces of cardboad get the baffles to the right size and play around with it until your satisfied
