If he is running 54 watt bulbs x4 and spilling light in 360 degrees how are LEDs not an upgrade when you save wattage, Don't have to replace bulbs, hit spectrums dead on and can focus directly into the tank? I am sure you have seen growth from Leds vs other lighting first hand. If his intention is to run the tank and constantly frag then there is a definite justification in ugrading.. Not saying he doesn't have enough light now just debating the upgrade and growth.as welll as his long term expense.

Nothing against you but my point was that he had a good light to begin with. It doesn't say 54w it doesn't say anything about the size of the light so where did you get that it was a 4 foot light on a 3 foot tank? It says he had a 36" tank so I would think it's only safe to assume he has a 4 bulb light that is 36" 4x39w and would not be spilling light it would be perfect. Hence the reason for my response. As far as growth is concerned I get very good growth with my t5's and that's all I was saying. Again nothing against anyone, I was not trying to sway him into buying anything or not buying anything just saying the light he had was sufficient for the application he intended on using it for.

I figured the main reason you were asking was because you wanted to save money or didn't have it currently to spend. If you are looking for dimming capability and want LED's then yes that's a different story. Fathoms are a good product for sure. Excellent customer service that is unbeatable. There definitely isn't another LED company that will bring them to your house and install them for you. If you do go LED in the future then definitely look into the Fathoms. I don't think anyone knows more about LED's than Fathom.

The mention of 54 watts is merely for example . Not addressing his lights or any particular led fixture. I am on addressing that Leds do provide go growth color and save In long term whether 36 or 48 all t5s light 360 degrees vs. Focused light through optics. Dont worry trig. You are more than welcome to the forum .lol.

I saved 59 buck on my electric bill just from changing to LEDs and better coral growth as well

Thanks for the tickle LOL

But I have to say it is broad statement. But you know first hand what we are doing as far as testing as well as the equipment we use to get our info and especially the sacrifices in sleep and time we made. But wouldn't dare say I can compare to someone like Dr Sanjay as far as knowledge of light and its effects. But we do research and do a lot of testing before arrays are release. With you knowledge of corals I would hate to put a light over them that I did not feel would be worthy of a Kings Ransom. So we do the testing and take the losses before we blame u and say why would you pick that spectrum? And shift blame. That's just not right. If anything would show a negative impact to BBash's monti personally the guilt would kill me. I think he knows that and that is the reason for the research. Same goes for Sunny, and all the tanks we do. No matter what, the time and money spent to build any size system deserves that respect.
