Well if nothing other than to prove the point that Chief did have a good idea for this thread..I happened to have had a very exciting morning before getting to the swap this morning (that feels more like it was a day that went on for 36 hours...)
First you need to know (or probably not, but I will tell you anway), that I feed a couple of stray :cat: 's in the neighborhood, one of whom I haven't seen in about 3 weeks. I also feed a pair of swans every day (for the last 8 years..)...so I left my house to head into the swap and stopped to feed the swans since I would not be there at my usual time later on on the day..as they happily knoshed, I looked up to see the :cat: peeking out of the underbrush. yay! That put a smile on my face
Left the swans and headed for Sunrise Highway to pick up the Belt Parkway. Just where Sunrise ends in Rosedale, the road narrows and I
saw what looked to be a rabbit (maybe?) running along the edge of the right lane. A couple of cars slowed down as the poor thing ran for its life and was now between 2 lanes of people in a hurry and a concrete divider...
I could barely breathe while watching this... run little bunny!
The light changed and I was in the left lane, with a moving van hauling butt one car back in the right lane while the white car (who had slowed down and put his flashers on hugged the side of the road trying to get the new group of traffic to go slowly).
The SUV next to me pulled forward and slowed so I blocked the left lane and the moving van

)) and I finally got a look at the 'bunny', which was a little Yorkie, running for his life

By this point, we are at the entrance ramp to the Belt and my brain in screaming to the SUV - PULL UP, get in front of him and stop and grab him!!!!!!!!!!!
Me & the white car have the traffic moving at an absolute crawl.
The SUV pulls up and the driver and passenger jump out. The pup is terrified, runs under the stopped SUV toward the Belt. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I jump out of my car and he runs back toward the SUV, he runs under it again and the fellow dives to the ground and GRABS HIM !!!!!!!!
:thrash::dog2::Hydrogen::dog::hug:
I'm sure the nice folks in the SUV are trying to find the little guys family.
A lot of happy horn honking and waves from the traffic we backed up..
..yeah, it was a great start to a great day.
(aww nuts, I'm crying again...)
