clam died and i found this

so this is the second clam that died on me. my first clam died a month ago and i had that one for over a year. yesterday my second clam died so i decided to freeze it to maybe see if i could find the reason why it might have went on me. i put it in hot water and this is what popped out....

Now if anyone could tell me what this is, it looks like a little shrimp. but i never added a shrimp like that ever.

Looks like a little pistol shrimp. Probably came in off of the live rock. They're mostly harmless, and it's doubtful that's what killed the clam.

That's a commensal shrimp...harmless shrimp that stays inside clams
