How do you "un pest" macro algae

Ok... Most of us dip our corals one way or another to keep unwanted pests out of our tanks however never heard of anyone dipping algae received from other members or lfs...

Please let me know any experiences with maybe doing this. Thanks.

I've dipped chaeto in a bucket with a strong dose of FW exit to keep out red planaria. Seems to be a common hitchhiker in macro.

Great idea! I never thought of dipping macro. I always wondered where the flatworms in my tank came from. Thanks for a good tip!

I've also done iodine dip on Red Gracilaria. With a saltwater rinse afterward before putting it in the fuge.

Fresh water dip with a lot of swishing around will get rid of mosts pests.

i've always soaked them in rodi and lugols, you'd be surprised how much pests hide in there.
