Fishdeath Riddle - HELP?

So a friend who owns a shop ordered 50 firefish. We acclimated real nice n slow and they even began eating that same day and they were looking PERFECT. However on day 3 90% died. There are multple fish systems connected and there were no other significant deaths.

The only reason I can think of is there was something deadly in the food on day 3.

x2...collection method or improper acclimation at the whole salers

I would say since they all died around the same time cyanide build up if it were acclimation I still think you would see some variation in death.

can someone point me to an article on cyanide build up? If it was cyanide wouldnt they never eat? And generally look like crap and just lie there?

theres a separate acclimation system where we drop the ph drip the fish in for 4 hours then slowly add system water into acclimation system for 8-10 hours.
