I have a 90 gallon tank. I had ick or what i think is ick. After a few weeks of treating the tank without copper. I used and invert safe product. Everything seemed to be great. The fish all look great. But I woke up one morning and looked at the fish like I always do. An noticed that they have a couple of spots like salt on them. I stepped into the shower and got dressed for work when I came back the fish dont have anything the salty spots seemed to have disappeared. Does anyone know what this could be. The fish still look healty and everything seems to be running fine. Has anyone heard of this before. I have no live rock in my tank but I do have decorative rocks that are saltwater safe in the tank. I have noticed that on the underside of these rocks there are very little tiny white things growing on it. as if it where live rock comming a live. I am some what new to this. They are like tiny white flower. any suggestions.

ich is a parasite that attaches to the fish, the falls off then reproduces, i think a this stage it is best to treat for it as the parasite is most vulernable.
if you only have fish and arent planning on having coral you can use some copper treatments
as for the rocks ot may be some algae or pods, but you have to figure out why you fish have ich in the first place. if you didnt use any live rock you tank may have never cycled right, you shold really get some to seed the rock you have.
explain more about your setup and livestock and water param then we can help you out a little more.
