Chiller

Hey all I appreciate the help with the leds. I chose RapidLED.com. Now I am looking into a chiller. Any recommendations. My tank is 180 gallon reef. I am totally knew when it comes to chillers so best information possible.

I was looking at them , you need a controller to dim tho I read , I don't have a controller so I'm going with the fathom led . Heard great things .. Good luck with the tank

i have been researching myself, i have a 150. you need about 1/4 hp. different manufacturers rate rate their chillers differently some 1/4 hp can do up to 125g and others up to 260g.
personally i would buy circulating opposed to drop in. jmo

on a minimum your going to need a 1/4 horse and definately get one that runs water through and not a drop in

+1...drop in runs all the time and so does the electric ,in line has its own thermostat and with LEDs it will kick on less.

Do you know for a fact you're going to need a chiller? You might be able to get by with fans, especially with LEDs.

I have one Aqua Logic Delta Star Chiller without temperature controller..1/4 and it works

+1 in that. It happened to me. No chiller, just 2 fans running with temperature sensors and problem solved.

I purchased some clip on aquarium fans which has 4 fans built in from from eBay vendor from china. It was 25 dollars for the 4 fan model. It took two weeks but it works well and operates JUST like the azoo quad clip on fan.
If you have time I would look into those in conjunction with an appropriate size chiller. I control my fans using my neptune aquarium controller. You could also set them on a basic timer to turn in when your lights are on.
