I wouldn't be surprised if the Pet Rocks from the mid 70s didn't suffer some sort of malfunction upon introduction to the masses :tongue1:.

from what i understand they did suffer from a lack of activity at the start, till the marketing dept decided to sell them using that as their main selling point. they never did correct the issue, just marketed it better.

I have not finished testing. So far I've replaced most of the components in the wet end of the pump as well as the driver.

I gueSs i am getting MY unit back — reFurbished, NOT new as promised.

well I had a problem with my vortech and it was replaced like lighting..since then I haven't had a problem..but I received a two year warranty ...

Mine is up and running again. Tim replaced my whole unit for me. I am happy when its running because I really do like the flow in my tank.

I got my replacement "refurbished" pump... and to my surprise...

IT DOES NOT WORK!

I spent 1 HOUR on this thing... different spacer positions, on/off, low/high... NOTHING! This thing just will NOT turn.

After I applauded them for their excellent customer service, and a promise of a NEW pump, I get a $344 refurbished magnet!

Am so pissed...

FYI, this was the last email sent to me:

Hi Don,

I have replaced your pump's driver as well as its driveshaft and
bearing and I ran the pump for several days at high and low speeds
with zero stalls. I will send it back to you tomorrow. What address
would you like me to send it to?
