Hey guys, quick question what's a good recommendation for a canister filter to add to my 28g nano reef. I want to supplement to filtration with something that will keep water crystal clear. Any ideas??

waverunner, I don't know what canister filter for sure that you could put over your 28gal, but I have had a similar thought myself. I've wondered if I could just put a fluval 306 three tray canister filter containing GFO, carbon, and maybe sponges on a small cube or a bigger cube packed out with rock. You would have to change the media one out of the two, every two weeks. if you were even able to have a piece of macro or something nitrate eating/absorbing on top of the filtration, i think it could even be a bonus.

How were you thinking of using the canister?

You are better off with reactors. Gfo has to have a small amount of flow so it doesn't disintegrate. Carbon will give you crystal clear water but if you have any corals, you want to add slowly. You can strip the water to quickly and shock your coral
