Im stuck. Anyone who knows how the herbie method works please chime in. This HOB overflow has 2 drains. Each with their own valve.
When i restrict one of them to create syphon everything is silent as planned. But instead of water level increasing in overflow box so that it can drip into second emergency drain, it raises in main tank and lowers in return pump compartment and pump begins to run dry.
My first thoughts is that i backed up the drain so tank water is elevating, but why not elevate in over flow box that way drain can find relief in second emergency drain?
