I think he was planning to purchase it pre-made. I think either will work assuming the brace is inset. Mine (that I made) fit into the groove along the lip although because of the powerhead cords it rides up a little in the back.

yout better off going to home depot and getting 2 8 foot pieces of the frame and corners and spline then just getting the 4 feet of net from brs. total should cost you like half price and what they sell on the website is incomplete for what you should need

Here are the net tops I made thanks to the help of nanoreefer22 after seeing his. These were the instructions:

"From HD you can get the items below:
Screen Roller
Screen frame (I got brown, it matches pretty well to black frames) http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...1#.UR99I2f7FKI
25ft of Screen spline
4 corner pieces for each frame you plan to make

To make them, I measured the total length I had, subtracted the added length of the corners (believe it's about 1.25 inches each) and I cut them. I made sure it fit in the tank trim as I was doing it."

* Just noticed the screen wasn't included in the parts list that is deer netting which can be found in the plant section outside near the pond stuff. Or just ask around here Im sure members have extra left over from their own projects or if you need I can bring some back up from NJ for you.

You can make a small slice in the netting - just large enough for the plug portion to fit through - and then add one of the smallest cable ties to close the slit back up, and your cover will sit nice and flat on the tank :)
