Why aren't there more peninsula reefs?

I'm in the planning stages to set up a 180g peninsula, but I'm wondering if there's something wrong with them since not many people have one set up. I can only think of a handful of people and their tanks look awesome. Is it a space issue or am I missing something?

Because we all don't live in fancy homes with lots of space and spouses that will tolerate something of that size in their living rooms.. But you go get one man.

I have a tiny apartment (and an amazing wife) and I have a penisula.... it rules. BACK OFF KAsei.:biglaugh:

Aside from the amount of room they require, you will have much more glass to clean , and usually only 1 end panel to have your overflows and powerhead/returns

I love the idea of a peninsula tank, it's like you get a whole other tank to look at when viewing the extra side.
If I ever did one my concerns would be proper follow and would love to have it set up with a sump room behind the overflow end

I just set up a 125 as a peninsula. It's only been going for a week. I just transferred my 20 in there but had problems hanging my light:banghead: The flow is great and it's awesome viewing from both sides. It gonna be a pita once I start cleaning the glass tho
