Bubble Magnus Dosers Suck

I'm driving and didnt read much of the post but I have inconsistent doses with mine as well. Not as bad as yours but its off by a few ml on both pumps.

I was suggested to dose according to my params but I don't see why I would have to compensate for a 200 something dollar pump that's only job is to dose

Apparently the dosing heads have a 6 month warranty and are considered a wear and tear part. I won't be purchasing new heads for this POS. I can see a malfunction killing my tank. I'll have to go another route.

The tubing is what wears. It can be replaced. Problem is finding the santoprene(spelling?) in the 2mm id size. I replaced mine with peristaltic pump vinyl tubing in the correct size and it didn't work. Kept popping heads off.

Well this is a good thread because every where online tells how great this pump is

Lurkers take note: it might be worth the extra 100-200 for a better dosing pump. Especially when dosing chemicals that can nuke your reef

Mine worked fine. Just understand depending how much you dose, you might have to replace the heads if they wear.
Other dosing pumps require you to use check valves to hold the prime

It may work well for some but not me, and when I contacted seaside aquatics about it I was told to purchase new heads because of normal wear and tear. This is unacceptable IMO. This is a $300 pump and it should work longer than the 5 months that I have been using it. The scary thing is WHEN it malfunctions you can potentially kill your tank. Hopefully seaside make some sort of gesture to make things right. If they don't I will be sure to share my experience on every message board out there.
