How many kalk

I was thinking about adding kalkwasser to my ato .I was wondering how many people use it in there ato? Also if they seen any diffrence by using it .what's ur thoughts?

I just started using it 3wks ago...i got my levels where they needed to be then i started dosing.My levels are consistent now...now i don't want to do water changes lol...i started seeing alot of Coraline algae spots on my glass since i started..don't know if its because i started kalk but I'm not complaining

On a system like yours I would use it. It's a lot more cost effective than trying to keep up with just dosing between water changes.

I use it in a reactor. I have deltec kalk reactor that stirs the kalk 24/7 to make sure the water I top off with is super saturated.

I run a cal reactor but figured I can tune it down and make the difference up with the kalk .plus my ph will go up a bit .

I use kalk in my ato water, i tuned down the calcium reactor a bit, works awesome!

Kalk also precipitates phosphates so there is that added bonus.

Doesn't raise your calcium levels but maintains your current levels quite well. I had to use a two part doses to get my calcium levels up and now maintain it with kalk in the ATO

2 is full saturation. You can tweak a bit more into solution by adding vinegar. You probably know there isn't one set it and forget it cure all for maintaining calcium levels, but an ongoing keeping up with the tank's needs as things grow.

Charlie ..I've been adding kalk to ATO for many years and for about the last year or so I've been adding vinager (started at 10ml per gallon) which does two things...it's a carbon source to help lower nutriants and also it super saturates the kalk so I only use about 3/4-1 tpsn per gallon and able to maintain a PH of over 11 in the ATO so I know its saturated...by adding kalk as you mentioned it will help especially in larger heavily stocked systems so you can dial down the reactor...so the CO2 and media lasts longer as well...I still have to find the time to come over and check it out..
