there okay to go. its just a lawsuit they will get over it lol. find it for a good price if you can jump in a group buy do it. it will save you around 40$
Dude it's $26 shipping who cares your still only paying $100 verses $350. IMO I'm not rich by any means but I fail to see the advantage of dealing with group buys and waiting forever just to save $15.

No one cares that another cheap chinese company has stolen someone elses patent huh just as long as they are cheap ridiculous and everyone wonders what is going on in this country. Will not respond again. But we have another member on here that had his patent stolen by cheap Chinese manufacturer. And how does this one dude on here know so much about these pumps? curious

Except no patent was stolen, and no lawsuit has been filed.
There is a lengthy discussion on Reef Central from an actual patent lawyer stating why Tunze would lose in court and have their patent possibly invalided if someone brought in a solid defense team, and had the money to defend themselves.
The patent in question is a design patent, not a utility one like Ecotech has. The cease and desist states the design is ornamental and was copied. All of design is actually functional, like the 360 degree holder and the water inlet. Jebao did not copy anything ornamental, like having "Tunze" written on the side. A Koralia pump has the same type of inlet shield, which is functional in nature. It allows water into the pump from the sides.
The design patent itself would then be subject to be rendered invalid if the courts agreed on its functional nature. A design patent is basically worthless, unlike a utility one as they can slightly modify the casing and continue to sell it even if the courts did side with Tunze. Even then, they would still be imported unless there was ITC intervention.
Tunze did not make the first propeller pump, so they are unable to get a utility patent on it, and never will. Why not say Tunze copied their propeller design from the original inventor of it, if we go by the same logic being applied to Jebao just because they are chinese?
You should be angry at Tunze for trying to strong arm smaller retailers into limiting competition, since they know the small retailer would rather just not sell them than be sued or lose Tunze as a distributor. That's as monopolistic, anti-competitive, and anti-capitalistic as it gets, yet you're angry at the chinese company and not the german one?
My pumps are also 4 months running strong, and someone else I sold my MP40s to is a very happy owner of them. Win/Win.
Actually know what you're talking about and research things before making assumptions and bringing nationalism into it.
ive been reading up on it on reef2reef, its crazy how this fell threw with this wannabe lawsuit.. its so dumb.. i hope jaebo wins.

You have one photo memory? Why do you push these pumps so hard?
What kind of return pump for your tank do you have?
So when you can say you would use the jabao pump on your return then i would say hey maybe i was mistaken but still wont buy it but good option for others.Since you wont trust your return on a cheap knockoff pump like a jabao why should anyone trust spending 100 bucks on these. I know for sure if vortech had a return pump i would pick it up without hesitating because i know they are great and Tunze and Danner. But no one on this site or any other site has stated they used any of there other products on their reef
