Finally done! Got all corals placed, all polyps are out, no losses and the system seems to be stable. I really like the way it came out. Its still way unfinished since i will stock up this thing with sps to the max... The rock to the right is way empty as i am working on getting some nice colored acros...maybe pinks, blues,

The water is still a bit cloudy, im running some carbon and it helped a lot, but not as clear as it could be. Sorry if the pics arent that great and a bit whitish. As far as light, i will lower a bit my fixture, maybe 3-4", that should be ideal. I will also replace the aquablue special for a second 10k, i really like the color of mid day daylight that bulb brings to the tank and ive noticed my corals do really well with them. I also have a coral plus bulb that i plan on switching to actinic, so that will also bring a nicer more colorful temperature along with the 3 blue+'s.

As far as LPS i have an order for an insanely neon green acan, and will only add pieces that are unique. Otherwise i will keep the tank with lots of room for the fish to swim. I gave away the flame angel(used pick on my acros like crazy, no polyps would come out since i had gotten him, never again would i have one), royal gramma and yellow tang. I kept my fish to a minimum(clown and chromis now) because i want my system to have the least amount of waste until its ready so there will be no stress to the corals. I added Dr Tims one and only ( i believe in that product for new systems)to lower an ocasional initial amonia, or nitrate over the next few days.

I ordered an MP40 wich will increase flow and hope to have it by the weekend. As far a fish, in about 2-3 months i will add 3 yellow tangs and that will be it for me.

I lowered the fixture about 3", and replaced the aquablue special(ATI) by a second 10k one, and the coral plus(ATI) by Red Sea's Reef Spec Pink. I was in Jersey and stopped by Absolute Fish( really cool store in Clifton) and noticed most of the tanks there had this pink bulb and i really liked the color. Not sure if some of you got to see the new Red Sea t5 bulb line, but its a copy of ATI's main bulbs. Super Actinic is pretty much the same as blue+, they have a 15K that is similar to the aquablue special and the pink to the purple plus. I got the pink because it is more like the KZ Fiji, whereas the purple plus IMO has way too much of a red effect.

I personally really like the 10k bulbs and immediately notice a difference in the tank color when i have them in the set. Here is a pic of the tank with the new bulbs, not sure if you could see the difference from the pics i posted yesterday, but in person it is very clear.
Front to back: Blue+/10K/Blue+/10K/Pink/Blue+

All corals are doing great, and here is a few that i just got:

Nice acan, glows really crazy orange

A yellow/ orange lobo, wish pics made justice

And my favorite in the tank, not new but wanted to post a pic, a bright yellow/ electric green plate

Bad news is in an attempt to lower the lights a bit (3.5") i noticed my big orange lobo started to get bleaching spots due to too much lighting. i moved it to a corner under a rock branch until it recovers, and in the future will work his way back into more lit areas. Another bummer is my platnum clown disapeared! Looked everywhere and my only guess is it jumped behind the tank somewhere...sucks.
Since i needed to keep a bioload going, decided to get another clown to keep along my chromis. Those two smaller fish will keep nitrate levels at a sufficent low.
This time got a true percula here is a pic

Tank has been doing great so i thought would post an update.
Water seems to have finally stabilized and being that the tank is only 3 weeks old, things have been going very well. I added a few sps colonies and i already see some frags with noticeable change. My old colonies moved from the past tank seem to also be moving forward which is great news.
Here are a few pics:

Red goni will be a challenge. Have been reading lots about it, hope to allow it to thrive and grow

Red Monti in the back had some signs of bleaching from excessive light in the tank it was kept, and i can say in a few days it already has been coloring up well and i can see the red coming back. Big green slimer colony also has been looking real good, caught lots of the bright green back from when i got it.

Cant wait until the tank matures more so i can add a fish...maybe in 2-3 weeks...

Have gotten some new corals, did changed some things around a bit and corals are doing excellent after 4 weeks the system has been up running. Some of the colonies i got from other members/ FS have colored up a lot, and i just am waiting another week to maybe add a fish. Here are some pieces i recently got:

Green mixed colors brain, which is huge, maybe 7"

Nice acro colony, which i placed high on the rocks. The old colony didnt have much color so i switched things around. Not sure what kind of acro is this. Wish my camera was better, the green is really bright

Some light pink zoa colony, just got it last night so some polyps are not out completely

A nice Pectinia coral, probably the brightest green in the whole tank, even more than my bleeding apple scoly

Tank is still work in progress, here is latest FTS

A Pic of the Sump. I have in here most of my LR, no baffles, just pumps, skimmer and all chaeto in a basket

Fish are over rated lol

That is true. I actually was thinking and most of my tanks had almost no fish. Ive always upgraded to bigger tanks with the thought of adding more corals, and never really got more fish. I only have a chromis and clown now and maybe wont even add another, am thinking about getting more corals and let my tank reAlly mature.

Wanted to update my thread, so here are some pics... As some know i posted pics of my tank last time right before my nephew came home and threw play dough in my tank( same night i felt the tank was as its best! :frown:)I found out nex morning and although did 100% wc, carbon and tried to keep things stable, some sps colonies bleached. No losses of LPS.
Most sps did survive and now, exactly 31 days after the issue, the tank is going up and doing well... Colonies are coloring back, and showing new growth. The green slimmers are the ones taking the longest to color back up. They are still a light lime green, far from the neon color they once were, but also far from the white of only 4 weeks ago...hopefuly it will keep getting better.
