hey guys

i bought a 400w pfo ballast from a member some time ago(don't remember who exactly) and i started having problems w/ my light two days ago. @ 5pm my light did not come on. i thought how strange. i immediately thought it was the timer so i plugged it directly into the socket. nothing! i then checked the cables and moved the ballast a bit and it came on.

yesterday same thing. no light. i checked my ballast and realized the on/off switch is not working. it won't even switch. it's wiggles around. i took the switch apart and by looking @ it i could tell something was wrong. not sure if the previous owner tried fixing it. it's a good thing i kept the old ballast.

does nyone know where i can get one of these on/of switches? thanks in advance.

Another idea is to have it rewired so it's always "ON"
and use the timer as a toggle.

that is how i had my old one. i will do it that way until i get a new switch.

thanks for the link. my switch is different from that one but i think it will work

Oh yeah, since you said you just moved it a little and it came on. It could be just that the wire is loose from the switch.
Ofcourse it comes without say but unplug the unit before doing any DIY on it. :)
