RKL itemp probe question?

I've been using Rkl for dosing and lights and heaters. Recently the heater in channel 1 in heater function. .... gives reading erratic..... switching within seconds from 78 to 96f. Actual temp using thermometer is 78f. Now probe shows in rkl as "Itemp probe error".

Thus i changed it to mode=on from auto.

Does my probe need cleaning or replacement. ?Had this probe for 2yrs.
