Can someone please identify this foreign object in between the zoa's? directly to the right of the green zoa something is alive there..it keeps coming out and then retracting

If its that toothpick looking thing It looks like what I have always called a peanut worm; I was doing a science fair project on the tank tonIght with my child and he was loving them.
