Only becasue Fritz asked for it.

Mine has been working flawlwssly for over 180 days and I havent replaced the shaft they sent me as part of the upgrade.

Who else has them - Vortec Owners speak out if succesful

T, no, As you can see, Randy has one as well - mine is the only production model that is running (unless I got a beta model that sold as production :scratch: )

I saw that Dave had two fo them running that looked realtively new - Kasei - crossing fingers that yours are OK.

What are the dimensions of the pump? The inside piece? The outside? I looked on line and could not find them.

Leslie, the pump is lean - about 3.5 in diameter and about 2" off the glass on both sides of the glass.

I love mine.

[FONT=Arial,sans-serif]I have been thinking about getting one but have been reading a lot of problems that people are having with them. Are they worth the money or is a tunze better. I know no heat gain but the Tunze has very little if any. I mean they are between 20 to 40 Watts.

I don't own one. But I've read all the trials and tribulations of the Vortech. Apparently house has the one anomaly out there that actually works. Almost everyone else has had to replace parts, get total replacements, etc. etc. etc.

It seems they are still working hard to complete all necessary adjustments to make them a reliable product. Tunze's appear to be a more reliable product at this time. IMO, when Vortech irons out all their problems, they will then be the pump of choice. Keep in mind that Tunze is working on a similar design as the Vortech. So the competition will continue.

No actually mine works perfectly....Now. I know why everyone is having problems. If you are thinking about getting them I would wait until the new batches come out. They have improved upon the original design and they are more reliable in the new form.

My beta work flawlessly from the day I got it until the day I switched the tank to the new setup and sent it back to be upgraded to the new parts. I now have 2 new units that are also without problems and know of numerous others around the country that are just fine.

SiMike I never saw your original post awhile back and to set the record straight, it was my Tunze that was spinning backwards. Frankly, I've had more problems with my Tunzes than my Vortechs.
