Need help, peacock mantis not eaing

Anyone have some experience with these beauties? I got this peacock mantis about a week ago. I tried some regular pathmark shrimp, he takes it and twirls it a bit but then throws it back out his cave. I tried some silver slides too.

give some small crab like emerald crab. or a block of mysis. sometimes they wont eat at all if they are ready to molt

Try live crabs.

Clams on the half shell have worked for me in the past... sometimes peacocks just want to smash before they eat. Like Arati said though, if he's about to molt he won't touch anything regardless of how appetizing it may be.

Mine love mussels from the fish market. I do agree with Arati, if he is in the process of molting he may not eat for a week or two
