Quite one pump stopped!!

I have been using it for 3 months, it seems workin good and really quite. But it stopped by itself 3 times already, I guess the pump is over heat!? I unpluged it for 30 mins, pluged it back then fine.

Anyone has the same problem?

I think all pumps are susceptible to this. I have always given my pumps a good 5 minutes to cool down before turning them back on.

FWIW, same thing happened to someone over at NJRC recently. unfortunately, the pump was his feed for the chiller and his tank topped 90 degrees.

I recall reading something about this. There was another company before Pentair that manufactured the Quiet Ones. Those had known overheating issues which would cause shutdowns. Not sure if this was corrected with the new pumps manufactured by Pentair.:scratchch

the old ones used to shut down all the time when they got hot. what size tubing is on your return line. the reducer they supply for 1/2" tubing causes the pump to overheat. after i upped the plumbing to the size of the output it stopped happening. Before i learned my lesson i destroyed 2 pumps.

mines is 1" in, 3/4" out. overheat only once in 4 months. n that was only because i place it in a unvented location.
