hello reefers, i have a temporary sump setup which consist of a wetdry (filter media with skimmer & pump) and skimmer dumps in a seperate return container. it is difficult to balance both as the skimmer pump is bigger than my return pump. Because of this, my return container is 3/4 full and my wetdry is 1/4 full. this measurement also fluctuates whenever the skimmer air intake is fine tuned. This is bad because in the event of a power or pump failure there is a strong possibility of flooding. i appreciate any suggestions that would help rectify this situation.

Get a new sump ;) Seriously you can use anything from a rubbermaid to a small fishtank. Either that or cut out the seperate chamber that the skimmer is in so it is in contact with ALL the sump water and cannot run dry.
