Tank size help

Strongly considering doing a custom build. Either going to do 60 or 72 long by 27 deep but still not sure about the height. Definetly want to stay shallow somewhere between 12-16 inches. What do u think?

i have a 27" high tank and being that i short its a royal pia sometimes.
another thing to take into consideration is what type of lighting you will be using...and it all comes down to personal preference! enjoy the new build

Are you thinking 60/72x 27x 12-16?

That actually sounds nice. I'd go with the 16 if that's the highest you want to go.

I mean...less costly lighting or % usage on LEDs since it's not deep, you can build your stand to keep the tank eye level AND still be able to reach into it without a stool, and at 16" you can have a sand bed or trim (if you need it) and still have a working 12-14" inside of the tank.

I remember seeing some nice islands built in shallow tanks on here. Even where some of the rock work is only splashed by their wavemaker to simulate rock caps on the intertidal.

Yea I really love the island/minimal look. I'm figuring the rock work wouldnt be higher than 8-10 inches tops at the tallest part.
