Blasto Dieing???

Is my blasto dieing??? My clown took a small nip at it on July 30th... I noticed it kind of shriveled, but then came back to it's plump form. I took a pic right after it happened.

So I moved it away from the clown, but then 2 days later, I noticed the center mouth was a little opened on each head. Now they're almost all completely open.

I moved the blasto back to the original position thinking it might've been too much lighting or flow in the other spot.

Can any experts chime in and tell me if this is normal... any chances of recovery?

Blasto Wellsi can be very tough to keep. Some time polyps will close for no reason and not re-open again. The best thing to do it just give it time and it will re-open. You want to make sure it's not getting to much light and not a lot of flow. Also try feed it very some, like cyc-opeyes.

The flesh looks like it still there, can't see the white skeleton underneath, so it may just need some time.

After the incident, I targeted some cyclopeeze and phytoplankton. I just did it today as well.

Is there anything specific the Blasto needs as far as trace supplement levels??? Calcium is at 380, nitrates 0, salinity 1.024, temp 79-80.

You want to get your Cal atleast 400 and make sure you Alk level is correct.

The really only thing you can do is just give it some time and hopefully it will re-open.

Marrone, thanks for the input. Fingers are crossed.

The fleshy part is still definitely apparent... just not plump like before. I hope it makes a full recovery. Paid a lot for this thing

Like I said before Blasto Wellsi can be hard to keep. Just give it time that's really all you can do.
